History

Morgon is the name of a hamlet which, because of its reputation as a wine-growing area, has been added to that of the village of Villié.
From a particular terroir of decomposed rock and friable schist, Morgon is undoubtedly the most distinctive of the ten Beaujolais crus, or at least the easiest to identify on tasting.
Its taste of terroir intensifies with age, and we say that it “morgonne”, a word as enigmatic as it is unanimously adopted by its supporters.
In 1985, Hervé LACOQUE settled on this estate, which dates back 5 generations.
It covers four climats in the Morgon appellation: Côte du Py, Micouds, Charmes and Corcelette.

Tasting

Brilliant garnet-red color. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and kirsch with a lovely freshness. Generous, unctuous, warm, with fine, coated tannins and a long finish.
